Eats, Shoots and Breeds

The first Japanese born panda to breed naturally successfully gave birth to twin cubs last month.

8-year-old Rauhin gave birth to the cubs at Adventure World Zoo in Wakayama.

In August, a giant panda bred through artificial insemination died at 3 days old in a zoo in Kobe.

Adventure World Zoo is being extra cautious over the cubs. The zoo said that it will watch Rauhin’s mental condition and health before introducing the babies to the public.
